The Mill On Flax

The Mill on Flax is a transformative adaptive reuse project that reimagines the former Delaware Chair Company factory and surrounding five-acre riverfront site into a vibrant residential and commercial district in the heart of Delaware, Ohio. The original 1863 flax mill, long dormant, now anchors the development as a restored clubhouse and leasable office space, blending industrial history with contemporary design.

Framed by five new walk-up apartment buildings totaling 162 units, the project offers residents access to a pool, fitness center, and a new riverfront trail connection to Central Ohio’s bike network. By preserving a meaningful piece of the city’s past and aligning public and private support, The Mill on Flax sets the tone for the ongoing revitalization of Delaware’s Riverfront District.
