For over 100 years the iconic Fireproof building has been a landmark structure in the Short North. In order to preserve its history yet meet the neighborhood’s growing demands, the building was renovated and repurposed to provide industrial, loft-style apartments and anchored a larger four-story addition that rejuvenated this portion of the Short North streetscape. In total, this project consists of 56 luxury apartment units that feature spacious and unique floor plans as well as retail and restaurant spaces along High Street. In pairing the historical building with a contemporary addition, the Fireproof project exemplifies the blended architectural character of the Short North.
